About
ZIMETRA International Magazine began as a passion project in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Its inaugural publication featured COVID-19-inspired artworks contributed by artists from around the world.
Since then, we have produced numerous other publications on topics that matter to our audience, including Pride, Black Lives Matter, and more.
Kaviru Samarawickrama, an MSc holder, artist, poet, and author, founded this publication in Sri Lanka. Her passion for writing poetry on important topics led to her leadership of ZIMETRA as an international magazine.
We primarily publish poetry and art in all styles and feature a theme for each issue based on submissions.
Our goal is to build a community that values important topics. We believe that with each issue, we support an artist's future, move forward in important conversations, and bring joy to someone's life.
Our contributors hail from all corners of the world, including Latvia, the Philippines, the USA, Sri Lanka, India, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Russia, Venezuela, Italy, Brazil, Canada, and many more. Let us work together towards a better, brighter world.

About the Magazine's Founder

Kaviru's passion for writing began at a young age, and she has been writing poetry since childhood. Kaviru's future work includes her third collection of poetry, "Peculiar Feets," which will delve into controversial topics such as abuse, critical illness, gender, personal identity, and patriarchy. Kaviru's unique writing style, passion for storytelling, and commitment to exploring difficult themes make her an exciting author to watch in the coming years.
With ZIMETRA International Magazine, Kaviru is dedicated to providing a platform for emerging writers and artists to showcase their work, regardless of their background or level of experience. She believes that everyone should have the opportunity to share their creativity and passions with the world, and hopes that this Magazine can help to foster a sense of community among artists and writers.
Through her work with the Magazine, Kaviru hopes to promote diversity and inclusivity within the literary world, and to inspire and uplift those who may be struggling to find their voice. She believes that the power of words and art can bring people together and help to create a better world for all.
